Executive Board
Dr. James M. Hand, R.Ph., Ph.D.
is a seasoned executive with over 22 years of responsibilities in large and small pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Hand successfully structured deals for acquisitions and out-licensing of assets worldwide; including numerous executed deals in the US, EU, Pacific Rim and Asia.
Dr. Hand received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, was an American Heart Fellow, is a member of the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, and is a Registered Pharmacist. Recently, Dr. Hand completed two years as a Board Member for the Licensing Executives Society and remains active with the National and International organization. Dr. Hand is currently consulting with young, product oriented companies, on business development strategies and positioning of their assets, for partnering and commercialization.
Dr. Tom Tsu-Huang Wu, Ph.D.
has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, over 20 years experience in Asian markets, also success over 10 years experience in bio-pharmaceutical and hi-tech industry from seed fund start-up to M&A targeting.
Dr. Wu completed his executive research studies from the University of South Australia, co-founded NexMed Asian Pacific (Holding) Limited as Chairman from 1998 to 2009. Prior to joining Conrex Pharmaceuticals, under his leadership he collaborated with many leading international bio-pharmaceutical companies and established the company as global new product development (NPD) firm. Dr. Wu invested, fund raised over 30 Million in capital, as President from 1998 to 2007 overseeing NAL Pharmaceutical operations as well as collaborated with NexMed Inc. He lead a project finance and corporate finance team in Asia and Asia Liaison including licensing in/out, co-development, product commercialization and venture public relations from 15 Million capital to over 120 Million for global new product development on coporate development and business development involved in management team and model building.
Scientific Board
In addition to Conrex Pharmaceuticals Corp.’s R&D team, with over 60 years of combined clinical and pharmacology experience, Conrex’s scientific board consists of experts and leaders from an array of leading academic institutions.
Dr. ChoKyun Rha
is a professor of Biomaterials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Rha conducts research on the structure, properties and functions of biopolymers and biomaterials, the design and engineering of biopolymers and biomaterials, and microstructure synthesis and fabrications. Her current area of interest focuses on drug and natural product discoveries. Dr. Rha is also the director of the Malaysia-MIT Biotechnology program.
Dr. Martin C. Mihm
is a senior dermatopathologist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is also an international consultant for pigmented lesions, lymphoma, and cutaneous inflammatory diseases. He is the co-director of the Pigmented Lesion Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital as well as the co-director of the Melanoma Pathology Program of the World Health Organization and co-director of the new Rare Tumor Institute founded in 2005 by the WHO. Dr. Mihm currently teaches Pathology at Harvard Medical School and Albany Medical College. Dr. Mihm has previously taught at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Thomas Jefferson Medical College.
David Kung, M.D.
holds dual board certification as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon as well as a maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Kung holds doctorates with honors from Harvard Medical School and Columbia University. He has completed with distinction, residencies in general surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of North Carolina/Duke University Medical Center. He presently holds academic appointments at Georgetown University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and is on staff at numerous Washington metropolitan hospitals.
